Merchant Guidelines
Last updated 18 October 2026
The rules for businesses on Adsocia: getting approved and verified, running offers, paying for campaigns, and what you can post.
1. Getting approved
Create a business account in the app, add your business details and store location, and accept these guidelines and our Terms of Service. Your account shows as “under review” until our team approves it. We may ask for more information, and may decline businesses we cannot verify or that sell prohibited products.
Use your real business name and an accurate store location.
2. KYC and the verified badge
Verification is optional but builds trust with customers. To earn the verified badge, submit your GST and PAN details in the app. Our team checks them, and once both are verified your profile shows the verified badge.
You may also be asked to upload supporting documents, such as:
- GST certificate and PAN card;
- shop and establishment licence, and FSSAI licence for food businesses;
- a bank statement, address proof or identity proof.
For bank details we store only the account holder name, bank name, IFSC, UPI handle and the last four digits of the account number. Documents are used only for verification and handled under our Privacy Policy.
3. Running offers
- Describe offers accurately: real prices, real discounts, clear terms and validity.
- Honour every valid offer and QR code your staff scan, within the limits you set.
- Train cashiers to scan QR codes before billing and to enter the bill total when asked.
- Once a flash sale is live you can extend its end time but not shorten it, because customers may already hold QR codes for it.
4. Wallet, pricing and refunds
- Top up your wallet with credit packs bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Credits pay for results — such as verified walk-ins, clicks, impressions, redemptions or completed actions — at the rate shown when you create a campaign, and for weekly placements such as Featured of the Week, banners and carousels at the price shown when you book.
- If your balance runs out, campaigns pause until you top up. Placements are booked per week, up to 8 weeks ahead.
- Refunds for credit purchases are handled by Apple or Google. If a store refunds a purchase we remove those credits, which may make your balance negative.
- Where a campaign has a performance guarantee and misses its target, we credit the shortfall to your wallet.
- Credits cannot be withdrawn as cash.
5. Content rules
All posts, offers, images and videos are checked automatically and may be reviewed by our team. Do not post:
- hate speech, sexual content, violence or threats, harassment, or self-harm content;
- spam, misleading prices or fake discounts;
- other people’s personal information;
- offers for alcohol, tobacco, gambling or other regulated products, except as the law allows;
- inflammatory religious or political content;
- images or text you do not have the rights to use.
Content that breaks these rules may be hidden or removed. Content reported by several users is hidden automatically while we review it.
6. Customer data
At redemption you see a masked phone number so you can verify the customer. Use customer information only to complete the transaction, never for unsolicited marketing, and do not try to identify customers from analytics.
7. Enforcement
If you break these guidelines we may remove content, pause campaigns, remove your verified badge, or suspend your account. Contact support@adsocia.com to appeal.
